Wansel, who is Known for his historic hip-hop break beat Theme from the Planets off of the 1976 album Life On Mars, remains as one of the most influential music producers of the 20th century and is known for his work with Phyllis Hyman, The Jacksons, MFSB, Teddy Pendergrass, Patti Labelle, Grover Washington Jr. and Lou Rawls. In recent years, some of the biggest hits include samples from Wansel, including hits from from Rick Ross, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, Eric B. and Rakim, and Lupe Fiasco.
